First off, our annual fundraiser happens next week from April 11-18 and hopefully you all can call in and pledge support to WRIU and The Boudin Barndance. We will have spiffy new Barndance Tee’s and bandanas as well as CD packages available for your pledge. As for tonight, it was a fun one. New releases dominated the first hour before our C&W segment. We featured the new Beat Farmers reissue on Blixa Sounds of their first album Tales of the New West. We remembered John Prine on the anniversary of his passing. New music making its Barndance debut this evening included a track from the upcoming compilation Alan Lomax’s American Patchwork, Peter Case, Jackson Scribner, Fruit Bats, Shannon McNally, Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters, and The Beat Farmers. Buttshaker of the week???? Reigning Sound in salute of Carl Perkins’ birthday with “Tennessee..” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or three, and get to the goods….
