What with our WRIU stream down, the 90.3 over-air broadcast signal almost nil, and the archive of the show getting chopped, last week’s Boudin Barndance radio show was heard by next to no one. All was back to normal this week and we mostly recreated last week’s program including a slightly modified repeat of the 1st installment of our new semi-regular “Alt Country: A to Z” feature during the 8-9 segment with a focus on “A” artists. Its focus will be on the prime period of the alt country era from the late 1980s into the early aughts. I lived and DJ-ed through it all, so my library is pretty extensive. We’ll present it on a somewhat regular basis (monthly, perhaps?) during the 8-9 pm segment of the show. As for the rest of the show, it was lots of new stuff the first hour before moving to our C&W segment. Kicked off the 2nd half of the program with a birthday remembrance of the late Loretta Lynn and then dove into Alt Country: A to Z. Albums and singles making their Barndance debut tonight came from Fred Davis, Lucinda Williams (single), Tanya Tucker (single), Wednesday, Caroline Rose, and Rudy De Anda. Buttshaker of the week???? Malcolm Yelvington with “Yakety Yak.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
