An absolutely sparkling day in these Southern Rhode Island parts and we got to finish it (and the month of May) off with a Boudin Barndance radio show. We welcomed Rhode Island-based country/Americana artist Charlie Marie onto the program tonight with her guitarist Brian McKinnon accompanying her and boy was it a ton of fun. Charlie Marie’s new album on Soundly Music called Ramble On is getting terrific reviews. She is the real deal and she plays her R.I. album release party at Askew in Providence tomorrow evening. Before Charlie Marie, we mostly kept to our usual Thursday night format with new releases dominating the first hour before moving into our weekly C&W segment. New music making its Barndance debut tonight included singles and albums from The Black Keys, Robert Finley, Allison Russell, Dylan LeBlanc, Shannon McNally, Connie Smith, K.C. Jones, Joey Quinones, and Yola. Buttshaker of the week???? New London R&R courtesy of The Reducers with “Fist Fight at the Beach.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or three, and get to the goods….
