The first Boudin Barndance of June was in part a slightly delayed 33th anniversary celebration. Way back in May of 1987 when I began this program as the Thursday Night Barndance, we kicked it off with a Gram Parsons special what with the late GP occupying such a special place in my music upbringing. We celebrated with a mini Parsons special on this evening’s show. Beyond that, it was our usual Barndance mix. New releases making their Barndance hit parade for the first time on this evening’s show included albums from Mountain Goats, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, and John Bauman. Buttshaker of the week???? Birthday boy Joe Stampley with “Roll On Mama.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or three, and get to the goods….
