This has been one tough year with people passing in the music world and how it differs from others is the number of friends that have passed. Jeremy Tepper’s sudden death last Friday was a real crusher. A friend since 1990 when he sent me those first two World Famous Bluejays 45s to spin on the show followed later by a stack of Diesel Only 45s, he was truly a tastemaker to me and the early years of The Boudin Barndance. We remembered Tepper tonight with a couple of sets heavy on the WFBs. It was the main item in addition to new releases the first hour followed by the weekly C&W set and a couple of odds and ends sets in the mix. New albums and singles making their Barndance debut this evening came from Dave Alvin & Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets, Amy Annelle, Sam Burchfield & The Scoundrels, The Decemberists, and Hermanos Gutierrez. Buttshaker of the week???? Charline Arthur with “Honey Bun.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
