The last Boudin Barndance of June and the 1st of the summer was the usual fun time on this sparkling day here in Southern Rhode Island. Our main feature tonight was a closing set of music from the late king of zydeco, Clifton Chenier, in honor of his birthday this week. Prior to that it was our usual menu of goods. New singles and albums making the Barndance hit parade for the initial time came from Amythyst Kiah, Heartless Bastards, The Artisanals, Megan & Shane, The Wild Earp & The Free for Alls, Jimmy Dale Richardson, Jack Grace Band, Lukas Nelson & POTR, Vince Neil Emerson, Bloodkin, and the newest That’ll Flat Git It collection from Bear Family Records focusing on the TNT and Marathon labels. Buttshaker of the week???? TNT power from Bill Morrison & Band from 1960 with “Set Me Free.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or three, and get to the goods….
