Tonight was a case of too much pork for just one fork with the fork being our 3-hour time period and the pork being everything we tried to stuff into it. Topping the agenda was a digital download giveaway of Joni Mitchell’s 1st four Reprise albums from 1968-71 courtesy of RHINO.com. In addition to that, we featured new releases, offered up our weekly C&W set as well as a special bluegrass segment, previewed the upcoming album from Ward Hayden & the Outliers who play Askew in Providence on Saturday night, and other odds and ends. New albums and singles making their Barndance debut tonight were from Rodney Crowell, Jesse Daniel, The Wallflowers, Dallas Burrow, Los Lobos, McKinley James, Ward Hayden & the Outliers, Erik Shicotte, Ric Robertson and Ryan Dart on the album side of things and Charley Crockett and Andrew Gabbard on the singles front. Buttshaker of the week???? Let’s give it to ol’ Tooter Boatman with “Life Begins at 4 o’clock.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or three, and get to the goods….
