Holy smokes! The first Boudin Barndance of August already. Summer is zippin’ by. Another busy Barndance this evening. We did remembrances of both Texas honky tonker Chris Wall and L.A. musician/scenester Chuck E. Weiss each of whom passed away near the end of July. Mr. Weiss was the subject of the Rickie Lee Jones smash “Chuck E’s in Love.” In addition to that, it was our usual mix of new releases and old, not to mention our weekly C&W set. New albums & singles making their Barndance debut this evening came from Paul Thorn, Hayes Carll, Billy Strings, Anna Tivel, Tobacco City, Watchhouse, Leah Blevins, Son Volt, Mac McCaughan, and Wilbert Lee Reliford. Buttshaker of the week???? Chuck E. Weiss with the funky “Extremely Cool.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or three, and get to the goods….
