Our monthly feature “Alt Country: A to Z” returned tonight with a focus on “O” artists from the heyday of the genre which we consider the late ‘80s to early aughts. We remembered the late Gram Parsons on the anniversary of his passing. Boudin Barndance fun fact: My first show in May of 1987 was a GP tribute. Prior to all of that, it was primarily new releases the first hour (with a few from the artists playing this weekend’s FreshGrass festival at MASSMoCA in North Adams, MA) followed by our weekly C&W segment. New albums and singles making their Barndance debut tonight came from Willie Watson, Late Dinner, Maddy Kirgo, and Mac Leaphart. Buttshaker of the week???? Bill Nettles with the classic “Hadacol Boogie.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
