A busy Boudin Barndance radio show tonight. The album spotlight segment returned to look at two recent historical collections from Sundazed Music, one being The First of the Brooklyn Cowgirls featuring C&W singer Mimi Roman and the 2nd from her later alter ego, Kitty Ford, called Pussycat. Each is terrific. We began, as usual, with new releases the first hour followed by our weekly C&W segment. We played music from Ali McGuirk who plays Askew on Sept. 30, The Jayhawks who play the Narrows tomorrow night and Lori McKenna who plays in Newport on October 6. We did a mini remembrance of Gram Parsons whose passing was this past Monday. New albums and singles in addition to the Mimi Roman and Kitty Ford collections making their Barndance debut came from Bella White, Mike & The Moonpies, and Angel Olsen & Sturgill Simpson on the singles side and Sunny Sweeney, Valerie June, and Chris Forsyth on the albums front. Buttshaker of the week???? “Wrap It Up & Save It” from the aforementioned Mimi Roman collection. Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
