A very special Boudin Barndance radio program tonight as we welcomed Jack Smith of Jack Smith & the Rockabilly Planet fame onto the program. Jack is coming out of retirement to paly a gig on November 2 at Nick-a-Nee’s in Providence as part of the Let’s Flat Get It rockabilly event. Joining Jack on the program was Jeff Deware of The Bop Thrills who put the event together and whose band will back Jack. Jack joined in the 7:45-9 segment and boy did he have stories to tell. He knew all the king pins and they loved him. So great he will be performing one more time. Before that, it was our usual Barndance mix. That included previewing the GA-20 album release show at Nick-a Nee’s this Saturday night. New albums making their Barndance debut came from Allison Moorer, the new Tom Waits tribute, Jake La Botz, and Jimmy “Duck” Holmes. Buttshaker of the week???? Jack Smith, of course, with “Rockabilly on the Radio” featuring guest Paul Burlison and Sonny Burgess.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
