The first Boudin Barndance of November was our usual full slate beginning with an hour of new releases followed by our weekly jolt of C&W. We then put the spotlight on the new 25th anniversary reissue of Kelly Willis’s album What I Deserve which sounds as good today as it did back in ‘99. From there it was a mix of stuff highlighted by music from Boudin Barndance all-time heroes Gram Parsons and Doug Sahm each of whom would have celebrated birthdays this week. New albums and singles making their Barndance debut tonight came from West of Texas, Eilen Jewell (re-release), The Devil Makes Three, Chris Acker, Jennifer Castle, Amythyst Kiah, Karl Blau, the new David Olney tribute, Stephen Clair, Johnny Delaware, and the aforementioned Kelly Willis. Buttshaker of the week???? Carl Perkins with “Pointed Toe Shoes.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
