As per Thanksgiving Evening tradition on the Boudin Barndance radio show going back to 1999 and shortly after his passing, we gave thanks thanks this evening to the music of Doug Sahm in all its various incarnations. We devoted 7-9 pm segment to all things Doug from early “Little “Doug” 45s to Sir Douglas Quintet material to various solo and bandleader stuff. We even snuck in a set of covers by other artists, too! The first hour of the program various odds & ends stuff that strike a nerve, including Dylan’s “Murder Most Foul” which has become the Alice’s Restaurant for The Boudin Barndance and some songs by Jonathan Richman who after seeing him perform in October had me thinking it’d be a good fit for tonight. Buttshaker of the week???? The all-time buttshaker, “She’s About a Mover.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
