A look at Oxford American Magazine’s 21st annual music issue compilation CD focusing on sounds from South Carolina. We also featured tracks from the new Mose Allison tribute album from Fat Possum Records. New and recent albums making their Barndance debut included the aforementioned Allison tribute, Big Star, and Jessie Mae Hemphill. Buttshaker of the week???? Mississippi bluesman Willie Farmer gettin’ funky with “Come Back Home.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
