Jon Dee Graham at Dog & Duck
Austin Lucas, Kasey Anderson, Glossary & Joe Pug at Opa Coffee & Wine
Highlights:
Dart Bowl, as always!
Schraeder. (Recommended by the Bloodshotters)
Opa having to deal with sound ordinance bullshit from Austin cops forcing Glossary to play “quiet” set during which they truly proved their mettle and kicked some subdued ass. 1st word of Alex Chilton’s death from Glossary front man who in turn opened with a Big Star tune. (Big Star was scheduled to appear Saturday night at Antone’s.) Â Fleetwood Mac cover was killer. Moved it inside for Pug’s closing set. Guy is a total talent (& audience charmer, to boot).
Lowlights:
Word of Chilton’s death. I suspect there’ll be more covers this weekend.
Arriving at 12:12 at Cheapo’s for Anais Mitchell noontime set and she was already done. WTF!
Arriving at 5:40 at Red House Pizza for Findlay Brown’s 6 pm set only to find they were 1 hour behind and not a band in sight.
Grossness of Dog & Duck St. Patrick’s Day hordes.
In general, not having a plan that had us in one general area, therefore, spending way too much time in the car.
