After three weeks of looking back at the year 2013 in recorded music, it was back to the business of the Boudin Barndance on this evening’s show. The program was dominated by a mix of new releases and previews of area shows coming up in the next week. On the new release front, albums from Roseanne Cash, Mollie O’Brien & Rich Moore, Blackie & the Rodeo Kings, Matt the Electrician, Elizabeth & the Catapult, Doug Paisley, Laura Cantrell, Will Kimbrough, Hard-Working Americans, Chris Mills, Jason Eady, Leo Welch, and Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings all made their Barndance debut tonight. On the live music front, we previewed upcoming shows by Joe Ely (Narrows in Fall River on Friday night), Marshall Crenshaw & the Bottle Rockets (Narrows next Thursday), and the ‘Mericans (Saturday & Sunday night at The Parlour in Providence).
