For all intents and purposes, winter finally arrived this week. The Boudin Barndance was ready with three hours of tunes to hunker down to. Tonight’s Barndance menu was a mixed bag: Breaking out some early 2016 new releases, C&W birthdays with an emphasis on Dolly, some 2015 leftovers, and a brief remembrance of Glenn Frey (The Eagles were my introduction to country rock back in the early ‘70s, so a debt of gratitude is owed). As for those 2016 releases, albums making their Barndance debut tonight included new and upcoming ones from Aubrie Sellers, Caitlin Canty (from 2015, but new to us), Sierra Hull, Dylan LeBlanc, Bob Woodruff, The O’s, Randy Rogers Band, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, Freakwater, and The Cactus Blossoms. Buttshaker of the week???? The Cactus Blossoms get the blue ribbon with “No More Crying the Blues”. Now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
