Closed out January with a Boudin Barndnace heavy on a mix of odds and ends
and a few live show previews. The latter included Neko Case who appears at
Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence tomorrow evening (www.lupos.com) and
Eilen Jewell who headlines at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River,
MA on Saturday evening (www.ncfta.org). Lots of new stuff showing up early
in the year. First time spins this evening went out to new and upcoming
releases from Dave Insley, Tift Merritt, Erica Wheeler, and Caroline Herring
and a few reissue LPs from the vaults of Justice Records from The Tempos and
The Phantom Raider, each courtesy of the Norton Records folks. Buttshaker
of the night???? The Lamplighters take the prize with “Roll On”. Now
