The first Boudin Barndance of February was a busy one. What with tomorrow marking the anniversary of the day the music died, we paid tribute to the late Buddy Holly by featuring a set of his music. Also featured music from Mary Lee’s Corvette who play a house concert in these parts on Saturday night hosted by yours truly. A bunch of releases making the Barndance hit parade for the 1st time including new ones from David Rodriguez, Shawn Mullins, Lee Rocker and Robert McCreedy to go with a couple of new reissue compilations, the latest in the Eccentric Soul series from the Numero Group focusing on vintage tracks from the Deep City label out of South Florida and the 2nd volume in Sundazed Music’s Dancehall Stringbusters series Buttshaker of the night????? Lafayette Yarborough with “Cool, Cool Baby”. Now onto the goods…..
