Holy smokes it is cold out there tongith. New England is in frozen tundra mode on this night and tomorrow. All the more reason to tune into The Boudin Barndance this evening and if you’re getting this playlist, hopefully you did just that. Lots on the agenda tonight beginning with a couple of ticket giveaways for Kacey Musgraves coming to Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence on March 27 and the Futurebirds/Smith & Weeden show happening at The Met Café next Wednesday. A bunch more new releases making their Barndance debut tonight including albums from Robert Earl Keen, Elana James, Barnstar!, Ickes & Hensley, Stephen Hunley, Kristin Andreassen, American Aquarium, Songs: Ohia, JD McPherson, Six String Drag, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, and Paul Kelly. The latter was part of an R&B/soul set to close things out on a heated note. Buttshaker of the week???? The new JD McPherson is killer and filled with buttshakers. We give it to the tune “Bossy”.
