Lots happening on the Boudin Barndance this evening. We began with a set in
remembrance of Merle Kilgore who passed away over the weekend. Saluted the late
Ernest Tubb with a set of music in honor of his birthday (Feb. 9). Also paid
tribute to the late, great Waylon Jennings what with the 3 year anniversary of
his passing coming up on Sunday. Previewed a bunch of artists coming into the
area – Scott H. Biram at the Bank Street Cafe in New London on 2/17, Neko Case &
The Sadies at The Roxy in Boston on 2/12, and Wrinkled Mules and Paul Edelman at
the Century Lounge in Providence with Lucky 57 on 2/18. First-timers making the
Barndance hit parade included one of two new Rank & File reissues (Sundown), and
new recordings from Mary Gauthier, Alastair Moock and Chris Stamey Experience.
