A touch of Spring in the air in these parts today (but no doubt it’ll fade fast). Also a spring in the Boudin Barndance step this evening with some hi octane stuff to close things out. Working towards all that, we paid tribute to Dale Hawkins who passed earlier this week and Irma Thomas who celebrates a birthday this week. We listened to a few from The Del-Lords who play a house concert hosted by yours truly this Saturday night. It’s their 1st U.S. appearance since 1990 and a tune-up show before they head to Spain next week. A bunch of new and/or recent releases making their Barndance debut this evening including albums from Adam Carroll, Devon Sproule, Famous L. Renfroe, Heavy Trash, The Royaltones, and a live thing from John Paul Keith & the 145s. Buttshaker of the week???? Dale Hawkins (r.i.p.) with the rippin’ instrumental “Daredevil”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
