What a relief! The 1st Boudin Barndance after we conduct our annual fundraiser called Radiothon is always my favorite. A complete relief! We celebrated with a ton of music, both new and old. Threads galore ran through the program, but y’all will have to figure them out. Caught up on a bunch of requests made by contributors. ABove and beyond it was a night where new and recent releases dominated. Making the Barndance cut for the first time included releases from Pam Tillis, Elizabeth Cook, Honky Tonk Confidential, Kendel Carson, Brent Amaker & the Rodeo (very Country Dick!), Johnny Cash doin’ gospel, Todd Snider, Tommy Womack, Chris Knight, John Platania, local band The ‘mericans, Los Straitjackets, Gore Gore Girls (playing for free at Jake’s in Providence on Tuesday night!), and Amy Winehouse (holy smokes is she channeling the Shangri-Las on the track we featured). Buttshaker of the night????? Los Straitjackets reprising Thee Midniters’ “Whittier Blvd”. Now let’s have a beer and get to the goods…..
