The most favorite Boudin Barndance night of the year is the one after our annual Radiothon Fundraiser and knowing that we have 51 straight weeks to just play music. Tonight was that night. We welcomed a special guest on the program tonight, newest Bloodshot Records signee Lydia Loveless. Lydia played a bunch of live tunes from both her current and upcoming records, we chatted some, and played a few from her album. She’s in Rhode Island to kick off a tour which begins at The 201 located at 201 Westminster Street in Providence tomorrow night sharing a highly recommended bill with local hero Joe Fletcher & the Wrong Reasons. Go see them! We featured music from Laura Cantrell who plays a house concert hosted by yours truly on Sunday afternoon in Peace Dale. A bunch of recordings making their Barndance debut this evening including new ones from Jeffrey Foucault, Amanda Shires, Southeast Engine, Steve Earle, Owen Temple, Quintron, Sarah Jaffe, and Numero Group’s Record Store Day special release Burned at Boddie. Buttshaker of the week???? Keepin’ it local (from the 1950s) with the Eddie Zack rockabilly burner “I’m Gonna Roll & Rock”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
