The Boudin Barndance took the week off last week for some traveling that included our first trek to Levon Helm’s place for a mid-week ramble. Back in the DJ saddle this evening to spread the good word of music. Nothing big on the menu tonight, but we did do a bunch of birthday salutes to everyone from Willie Nelson to Sonny James to Hasil Adkins. We also remembered guitarist Lonnie Mack who passed last week to close out the show. New releases making the Barndance hit parade for the initial time on this evening’s show included albums from Al Scorch (who played a barn burner of a house show for us earlier this month), Jim Stringer, The Paisley Fields, Andy McKee, The Jayhawks, Matthew Logan-Vasquez (at Columbus Theater on Sunday night), Fruition, The Quahogs, Donal Hinely, Walker Family Singers, and Charles Bradley. Buttshaker of the week???? How can we not give it to the late Haze with “Turn My Coat Tail Loose.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
