An odds and ends evening on the Barndance tonight. Devoted a chunk of the show
to a belated Cinco de Mayo celebration with the focus a batch of Tex-Mex
material from various Arhoolie Records releases. This was followed by a mini
“Corona” set. Birthday remembrances went out to Lorrie Collins, the late Tammy
Wynette, and Dick Dale. New releases getting 1st time Barndance spins included
the latest from Jim Stringer & the AM Band, Willie Heath Neal, the Johnny Cash
tribute “Dear Johnny”, and the various artists collection Accordion Conjunto
Champs. Buttshaker of the night????? The Rebelaires with a little “Satellite
Rock”. Now onto the goods…..
