Back in the Barndance saddle after a trip last week to Chicago and Central Indiana. Chicago = cool. C. Indiana = no comment. Chicago highlight? A sublime Italian Beef sandwich at Mr. Beef. Thank you, Rob! As for tonight’s Boudin Barndance, well aside from the fact it was about a hundred degrees in the studio we had some big fun. Did a belated Cinco de Mayo celebration to close out the show, as well as a belated Louisiana celebration (in honor of Jazzfest & all). Opened the show with a set for the wine drinkers out there. Bottoms up! New stuff making the Barndance hit parade for the first time included releases from Nate Gibson & the Gashouse Gang, Sarah Borges, Scott Miller & the Commonwealth, and Leaving Texas. Buttshaker of the night????? Nathan Abshire & the Pinegrove Boys take the big boudin with “Lu Lu Boogie”. Now let’s have a cold one and get to the goods…..
