A bittersweet Boudin Barndance of sorts tonight what with paying tribute to
Clifford Antone and Opry star Billy Walker each of whom passed away unexpectedly
this week. In addition, we saluted the unofficial mayor of South Austin, Danny
Roy Young, who takes a one-year (?) sabbatical from the helm of the terrific
joint the Texicalli Grill after Monday. Happy birthday DRY and enjoy the free
time!
Also gave away a pair of tix for Austin-based swamp pop band Larry Lange & the
Lonely Nights who play at Cafe Nine (www.cafenine.com) in New Haven, CT on
Friday, June 2. Believe me when I tell you these guys are the real deal! Well
worth the trip to New Haven. Tie it in with a visit to one of the city’s
infamous pizza joints. It doesn’t get much better. We’ll have another pair to
giveaway on next week’s program.
