The last edition of The Boudin Barndance for May opened with an entire set in tribute to Doc Watson who passed away on Tuesday. Was fortunate to see him on several occasions during his career and always left with a smile. We previewed and gave tickets away to the 13th annual Roots on the River Festival happening June 7-10 in Bellows Falls, VT. It’s a terrific little event that comes highly recommended. Check out www.rootsontheriver.com for information. New or recent releases making their Barndance debut this evening included albums from Jon Dee Graham, Louise Taylor, The Honeycutters, The Mynabirds, Kelly Hogan, and a retrospective collection from the Scud Mountain Boys featuring their first two albums. Buttshaker of the week???? Butt shaking, 18-wheeler style, with “Gear Jammin’ Daddy” from J.P. Harris & the Tough Choices. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
