A mix ’em up night on The Boudin Barndance this evening. Lots of this and lots of that. We did have a guest in the studio during the last hour, that being Chris Daltry of Providence-based band The ‘mericans who curate an evening of Providence music at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River next Thursday night that features Brown Bird, Route 44, and The ‘mericans in the headlining spot. Check out www.ncfta.org for the lowdown. A bunch of releases receiving their inaugural Barndance spin this evening. The included new ones from John Prine, Darrell Scott, Guthrie Kinnard, Shinyribs, Peter Case (big thumbs up!), and a trio of fine releases from Electric Western Records in Nashville from Derek Hoke, Jacob Jones, and Reno Bo. Buttshaker of the week???? Late birthday boy Charlie Feathers with a neat instrumental called “Chicken Plucker”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
