Dreary weather has dominated in Southeastern New England this week (Seattle of the East??), so it was up to the Boudin Barndance to perk spirits which hopefully we did. Previewed some folks playing live in the area this weekend, namely Bottle Rockets (Bank Street Roadhouse in New London on Friday) and Hayes Carll (Narrows Center for the Arts on Sunday, www.ncfta.org). Other than that, lots of the odds and the ends. Recent recordings making their Barndance debut tonight included new ones from Otis Taylor, Elvis Costello, Sweetback Sisters, Webb Wilder, and Amy Allison. Buttshaker of the week???? Jerry & the Silvertones in a runaway with “Ce’Ny”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
