Returned to the Boudin Barndance saddle this week after a one week jaunt South where the food and liquids went down way to easy. Nice to be back and pretty much kept it to a mixed bag of odds and ends tonight. Played a few Big Star tunes to promote a tribute happening tomorrow night at The 201 located at 201 Westminster Street in downtown Providence. The ‘mericans, Blizzard of ’78 and others saluting Big Star and Chilton. Lots of releases making their Barndance debut this evening including new ones from Johnny Gimble, Tony Booth (reissue), Justin Trevino & Amber Digby, Tim O’Brien, Eilen Jewell, Larry Lange & the Lonely Knights, R.I.’s own Deer Tick, Jimmy LaFave (retrospective), Kaiser-Cartel, Suzanne Vega, Ty Segall, and a split 7″ from Dan Sartain. Buttshaker of the week???? The Carlisles with a bit of foolery called “Goo Goo Da Da”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
