We closed out The Barndance for July with several features on this evening’s
program. We previewed Scott H. Biram’s show at Jerky’s in Providence on
Saturday night and Wilco’s show at Tanglewood (www.tanglewood.org) on August
12. Also gave away a pair of tix for the latter. The big feature of the
evening was a look at the brand new three volume collection from Norton
Records (www.nortonrecords.com) of rareties and previously unissued tracks
from the late, great Charlie Feathers. Must-have goods for Feathers fans.
New releases making their Barndance debuts this evening included recordings
from James Intveld, Jenny Reynolds, Girls Guns & Glory, Avett Brothers & The
2nd Gleam, Antenna Shoes, Barndance fave Andre Williams with The New Orleans
Hellhounds, and Volume 2 of The Birmingham Sound soul compilation series.
Buttshaker of the week???? The aforementioned Williams grabs the trophy
with “Never Had a Problem”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the
