With New Orleans & the Gulf Coast very much on everyone’s mind, it only seemed
fitting to dip into some of the great sounds from the Crescent City this evening
on the Boudin Barndance. (The fact that folks like Irma Thomas and Fats Domino
are among the missing is very unsettling.) We spent the last 40 minutes or so
delving into a variety of tunes from Irma to Benny Spellman. Our prayers go out
to all down there. Also featured tunes from some of the folks playing the
Rhythm & Roots Music Festival happening spitting distance from here in
Charlestown, RI.
It all begins tomorrow evening and runs through Sunday and has a definite

releases making the Barndance hit parade for the first time included releases
