With a dreary weekend of rain upcoming, the M.O. of The Boudin Barndance this evening was to brighten spirits which music from everyone from Elvis to Jack Oblivian should have been capable of doing. Previewed a few live shows coming up on the weekend including John Hiatt (@ Lupo’s), Donna the Buffalo (The Met Café), Shemekia Copeland (Knickerbocker Café), Deke Dickerson (Narrows), and Joe Fletcher & the Wrong Reason (Nick-a-Nee’s). New releasing making thie Barndance debut this evening included albums from Jason Boland & the Stragglers, Hallyanna, Lera Lynn, Dale Ann Bradley, Billy Burnette, Mekons, and the aforementioned Jack Oblivian. Buttshaker of the week???? Mr. Oblivina takes the big prize with “Kidnapper”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
