Boudin Barndance #1200 this evening. That’s a lot of Boudin Barndances. The menu was a few features and the usual Barndance mix on this pretty comfortable evening in Southeastern New England. On the feature front, we previewed music from Kevin Gordon who plays a house concert hosted by yours truly on Saturday night (http://www.facebook.com/events/114957998657359/). We also shined the Barndance spotlight on the brand new expanded reissue of the Old 97s’ “Too Far to Care.” A big bunch of records making their Barndance debut this evening. They included new ones from Birds of Chicago, Charlie Peacock, Beth Orton, Ronnie Fauss, Lilly Hiatt & the Dropped Ponies, Jamey Johnson, James Hand, Billy Bratcher, Bettye LaVette, Old Light, Lazy Suns, and the aforementioned Old 97s reissue. Buttshaker of the week???? We’re gonna give it to Rod Bernard & the Twisters with a small dollop of Bayou rock & roll called “Little Bitty Mama.” Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
