A busy night on the Boudin Barndance centered around a live appearance by Austin-based singer/guitarist/songwriter Carolyn Wonderland who is touring behind her new album called Peace Meal and plays live at The Knickerbocker Café in Westerly, RI tomorrow (Friday) evening at 9 pm. Carolyn was backed by her band and joined us for 45 minutes of live music and talk. Also previewed music from Moses Allison who plays at The Knick on Saturday night. Finally, we played a few from The Del Lords who reunite for a house concert hosted by yours truly on Saturday night and closed with a twin spin from Chuck Berry in honor of his 85th this past Tuesday. New or recent releases making their Barndance debut this evening included albums from Packy Axton (retrospective), Carolyn Wonderland, Shelby Earl, and JC Brooks & the Uptown Sounds. Buttshaker of the week???? We give it to J.C. Brooks with the tune “Don’t Lock the Door” from his Bloodshot Records debut. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
