Unfortunately, our FM transmitter is still kaput which means the webcast was the only option this evening for The Boudin Barndance. Hey, at least it’s an option. Spun a lot of old and new tonight. We remembered Phil Chess of Chess Records fame who passed away on Tuesday. Previewed some upcoming live shows in the area and put the spotlight briefly on a couple of new tribute collections, one to Jerry Garcia and the other to Dr. John. Lots of new releases making their Barndance debuts tonight. In addition to the Garcia and Dr. John tribute compilations, albums from Hiss Golden Messenger, Jamestown Revival, The Linemen, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Jim Lauderdale, Jo Serrapere, Wayne Hancock, Doyle Bramhall II, and Robert Finely all made the Barndance hit parade for the initial time. Buttshaker of the week???? Howlin’ Wolf in a runaway with “Killin’ Floor.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
