First free and clear Boudin Barndance this month and a bit of a relief to have no guests (though the ones we had the last three weeks were terrific). We remembered Steve Ferguson of early NRBQ fame and Captain Lou Albano (who the “Q” profiled in song) each of whom left the planet in the last few weeks. Previewed a couple of live shows: Matt the Electrician who plays a house concert on Sunday afternoon hosted by yours truly (www.myspace.com/rootshoot) and Andrew Bird who appears at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel on Tuesday night (www.lupos.com). Lots of albums/singles making their Barndance debut tonight including new ones from Rosanne Cash, Doug & Telisha Williams, Arty Hill& the Long Gone Daddys, Robert Earl Keen, Tim Carroll, Chip Taylor, Matt the Electrician, Amy Millan, Caroline Herring, Lucero and 7-inchers from Andrew Bird and Sweet Tea. Buttshaker of the week???? Joe Carson in a landslide with “I’ll Do the Dishes”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
