A bit of Indian summer on this Boudin Barndance Thursday night. It made for a pretty warm studio and dang I wish we had a cooler. Despite the parched mouth, The Boudin Barndance went on. Mixed it up a bunch. We did one of our release spotlights tonight with a set dedicated to the new Big Legal Mess CD/DVD collection chronicling the late Louisville-based singer/songwriter Denny Lile called Hear the Bang. It is highly recommended. Other new releases making their Barndance debut tonight included albums from Shawn Colvin, The Trouble, Steve Martin & Edie Brickell, Shawn Mullins, The Cox Family, Cicada Rhythm, The Yawpers, the aforementioned late Denny Lile, and a Lee Michaels retrospective which is pretty darn good, too. Buttshaker of the week???? Johnny Bond takes the gold with “Fireball.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
