Leaves are everywhere, it’s getting dark at 4:30, it’s hunker-down season and no better way to do it than with The Boudin Barndance on Thursday evening. We shined the spotlight this evening on the brand spankin’ new “Syl Johnson: The Complete Mythology” box set from The Numero Group. It is a visually stunning package with the music pretty staggering. Hat’s off to what IMHO is the reissue of the year. In addition to the Syl stuff which we closed with the last 45 minutes of the program, we previewed upcoming shows in the area this weekend including Robert Earl Keen at The Knickerbocker Cafe in Westerly on Saturday night (www.theknickerbockercafe.com) and Anais Mitchell and Horse Feathers at the Music at Lilypads series right here in Peace Dale tomorrow evening. New releases making their Barndance debut this evening included recordings from Justin Jones and Eric Brace & Peter Cooper. Buttshaker of the week???? “Dresses Too Short” from spotlight man, Syl Johnson. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
