Sometimes you just need to clear the head and break the routine for a bit, hence replacements for The Boudin Barndance for the last two shows (thank you Granger!). Anyway, back in the big seat tonight and still getting used to our revamped studio which is ergonomics in reverse compared to the old set-up. Not that any of you folks need to know any more than that. Other than featuring a few songs from Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Jennifer O’Connor who plays a house concert hosted by yours truly tomorrow evening, it was mostly an odds & ends evening on the Barndance. Caught up on some new releases with recordings from Exene Cervenka, Texas Sheiks, Starline Rhythm Boys, Carolyn Mark & NQ Arbuckle, Thad Cockrell, and Lucero all making their Barndance debuts. Buttshaker of the week???? A scratchy 7″ on Hickory featuring Bill Carlisle delivering “Shot Gun”!
