More reliable than the USPO and with 8 inches of fresh white stuff on the ground (on top of 8 inches since Sunday), nothing could stop the Boudin Barndance on this snowy Thursday evening. We kicked it off in gospel style with the final recordings of Pops Staples and never looked back. A bunch of releases making their Barndance debut tonight including albums from the aforementioned late Pops Staples, Andrew Combs (big thumbs up!), Caroline Spence, Gil Landry, Allison Moorer, Don Pedigo. The Pine Hill Project, Asleep at the Wheel, and the solid-as-a-mofo rock and roller from the Tim Lee 3. Buttshaker of the week???? A spiritual takes the cake with “Letter From Jesus” from Little Willie Patterson. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
