What a difference a week makes. The sun was shining, the meltdown is on and The Boudin Barndance was ready to deliver the rock, roll, hillbilly, blues, and all other things with a pulse. That is exactly what we did this evening. It was an odds and ends night with the only feature a remembrance of Mississippi Hill Country bluesman Robert Belfour who passed away last month. He released two raw and terrific records on Fat Possum in the latter part of his life. The new releases continue to get rolled out and those receiving their initial Barndance spin tonight included albums from The McCrary Sisters, Tony Savarino, Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield, Sonny & the Sunsets, Andrew Bryant (of Water Liars fame), and Richie Furay. Buttshaker of the week???? Can’t deny JD McPherson with “You Must Have Met Little Caroline”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
