A rare 4th of July week edition of The Boudin Barndance this evening as it’s the first time in many years haven’t been out of town on the Fourth. Doing a bit of a stay-cation this year. Anyway, with the 4th & all, American music was in the spotlight from a score of country LPs found at a Brattleboro, VT yard sale several weeks ago to a remembrance of the legendary Sun Sessions (58 years ago today!) to playing some cuts from the new release from local hero Mark Cutler. Country was king for the most part with dives into assorted other styles. We also remembered Sheriff Andy Taylor, Andy Griffith, with a few cuts from an old comedy LP. New releases making their Barndance debut this evening were the aforementioned new one from Mark Cutler and the new compilation Even More Songs of Route 66. Buttshaker of the week???? Marty Stuart and band with “Country Boy Rock & Roll”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
