Just another night on The Boudin Barndance this evening. Lots of odds and ends. We remembered songwriter and recording artist Liz Anderson who passed away Monday and Gram Parsons whose birthday would have been this Sunday. Featured music from and gave away tix to Bill Kirchen’s show at The Knickerbocker Café in Westerly on Saturday night. Also previewed Slim Cessna’s show at the Providence Social Club on Sunday night. Shined the Barndance spotlight on the new 3-CD collection of African-American gospel culled from 45s called “This May Be My Last Time Singing” from Tompkins Square Records. The successor to 2009’s Fire In My Bones, it is a worthy one. Only one album making its Barndance debut this evening, that being Booka & the Flaming Geckos’ Jeremy Fink soundtrack. Buttshaker of the week???? J.C. Brooks takes the tuna for an unprecedented three weeks in a row, this time with “I Got High” from his Bloodshot Records debut. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
