A wet one in these parts this evening, though, anything but wet in the WRIU studio which was pushing a hearty 80+ degrees. It made for a sweaty Boudin Barndance. The feature of the evening was a final hour salute to Norton Records which is having its 25th anniversary celebration this weekend at its Brooklyn home base. 45s, LPs & CDs from the label where the loud sounds abounds filled the airwaves during that last hour. Previewed upcoming shows from Dave Alvin, Jesse Sykes, The Sadies, Panther Burns, Jonny Corndawg, Delbert McClinton, and Rod Picott, the last of whom plays a house concert hosted by yours truly on Saturday evening. New releases making the Barndance hit parade for the inaugural time included albums from The Horton Brothers, John Lilly, and Glossary. Buttshaker of the week???? Sonny Burgess in a runaway with the exquisite slice of Sun goodness “We Wanna Boogie”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
