A gorgeous evening in Southern New England and hopefully the elixir for many was the Boudin Barndance and a cooler full of their favorite liquid. The sounds were many. We remembered Creole legend Bois Sec Ardoin who passed away in Eunice, LA last week. Gave away tix to Page McConnell’s show at Lupo’s in Providence next Friday, June 1. (Note that we are not fans, though, I do like Neil Cleary in the opening slot. Whatever) New releases making their Barndance debut included recordings from Porter Wagoner (with Marty Stuart producing, this one is big thumbs up!), Elana James who appears at Towers in Narragansett next Thursday evening, Ann Savoy, Matt the Electrician, and Ben Weaver. Buttshaker of the night????? From the terrific new Ace compilation The Rockin’ South, Ric Carty with “Scratching On My Screen”. Now let’s have a cold one and get to the goods…..
