The brand new Boudin Barndance blog full of loads of useless info & opinion (and overdue for an entry). It’s at

All the way from Schulenburg, Texas, we welcomed the Ginn Sisters into the studio this evening o play live during the last hour of the Boudin Barndance. Blood harmonies ain’t the half of the Ginn’s. How about that honky tonk flute? They’re playing Friday night in Rockland, MA and then back in this neck of the woods on Saturday night for a house concert hosted by yours truly. From there it’s onto Cleveland, Ann Arbor, and Edwardsville, IL on the way back to Texas. Check out As for the rest of the Barndance, we put the spotlight on the new tribute release to the late Oxford, MS-based writer Larry Brown called Just One More. From the Bloodshot Records folks, it’s beauty is the terrific group of artists taking part and terrific batch of songs they contribute to a writer who was a friend to many of them. It’s recommended. Also thanks to Bloodshot for a bunch of CD samplers to give away this evening. We also paid tribute to Moonshine Willy guitarist Nancy Rideout who died tragically in NYC earlier this week. Broke out their 1st 45 RPM on Bloodshot in remembrance. Other stuff hitting the Barndance hit parade for the first time included new ones from Wilco, Richard Shindell, Jimmy LaFave, Danny Flowers, Amy LaVere (big thumbs up!), Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem, and off-the-scale new soul retrospective “The Birmingham Sound: The Soul of Neil Hemphill”. (Thanks to Rick Cornell for hipping me to this!). Buttshaker of the night????? A bit of bump & grind slow butt stuff from the late Clifton Chenier with birthday day (& brother) Cleveland putting us into a trance on the rubboard with “Black Snake Blues”.
