Lots of stuff on the Boudin Barndance agenda this evening. We remembered
country singer, songwriter, and Opry member Roy Drusky who passed away last
week. On the flipside, Marty Stuart was in the birthday spotlight. Did a
ticket giveaway and previewed Moot Davis’ upcoming show at the Narrows Center
for the Arts in Fall River next Thursday (10/07/04) evening. Put the new album
spotlight on the whopper 4-CD retrospective just out this week “Can’t You Hear
Hear Me Callin’ Bluegrass: 80 Years of American Music” from the Legacy arm of
Sony Music. What with the debate this evening, stirred up political waters a
tad in the last set with some modern day troubadours doing the honors. A bunch
of
Barndance first-timers as well as far as recordings go with new ones from Johnny
Bush, Mark Chesnutt, Kasey Chambers and Paul Westerberg all making the playlist
for the first time. Buttshaker of the night????? Country-style ala the
aforementioned Moot Davis with “Highway Kind”. Now onto
the goods…..
